The starting point of this art is set in the ‘Space’ environment. This environment includes a stationary Moon. You can move the whole scene but are not able to move the Moon itself or remove it completely.
I love this environment. You really get the sense of vastness as there is no “floor”. But this might also be the reason why I haven’t really created any piece in this setting thus far.
I decided to incorporate the moon by drawing around it and putting it on a scale. The ‘Coarse bristle brush’ was used for the chains but it looks way better inside the 3D painting. It really resembles little chains which is what I was going for but the lighting makes it look uneven in Poly.
It was a quick sketch but it was fun adding the details and I like how it turned out. Working in the Space environment felt strangely different. It almost felt like you’re somewhere where you should not be – the mystery of the vastness made the process a bit more interesting, a bit more special…
