Today, I experimented with drawing and creating in the different scales!
It. Was. Awesome!!!
The painting of the fire is decent looking, although the stones could use more shading. I also wanted to create ‘a floor’ to the creation so I experimented with different brushes, ultimately landing on Unlit Hull. It’s probably not the right tool for it as it’s more three dimensional rather then a flat surface. Thinking about it now, I should have utilized the cube guide, greatly expand it and then use one side as a guide to create a flat floor….I might go back later and change that (although the way it’s now has it’s advantages, creating more of a natural looking scene)…
But today was about experimenting with the depth perception and I had so much fun creating the mountains. The moment I returned the painting back to a ‘human’ scale the mountains jumped away into the distance, getting huge – I got goose bumps! It was incredible! I then added the stars into the distance….amazing….the sky is the limit! (except in this case, you can totally go beyond the sky so it doesn’t quite apply ;-)).
