Well….that was quite the break…Totally unintentional but a result of a busy work schedule together with other factors (like being able to see other people and go places after about year and a half…oh pandemic, how long are you still going to be around, I wonder…)
I am ready to come back! And since there’s been a bit of a break, I need to jump back in! With Inktober around the corner, I figured it would be a great way to go about it – posting Tilt Brush art every day in October! LET’S DO IT!
What is Inktober?
Inktober is a challenge of creating 31 drawings (a drawing each day of October) that was created in 2009. The goal is to stay consistent, improve skills and create positive drawing habits.
Initially, it started as a ‘pen/ink and paper’ challenge but over the years, artists from around the world started to join in with other media as well!
Why did I join in?
I am really excited to join in and challenge myself! After bit of a break, this is a perfect way to get back on track and have some level of accountability! I think that seeing what other people create will be very inspiring and motivating!
It will also be interesting to have some prompts to follow. It eliminates the initial decision process while also pushing me to try draw different things then what I would probably choose.
Any concerns?
The consistency is what I am worried about. Life gets busy, moods change, motivation fluctuates…Doing something consistently for 31 consecutive days takes certain level of commitment so while it’s intimidating, it’s also really exciting!
I also find that the post production is what takes me a long time – getting the art out and posting it on socials! I resisted social media for so long that it feels like I’m starting from scratch, learning everything through trial and error…It’s been a constant shuffle between the Quest2, MacBook and an iPhone just to get a picture out…there’s got to be a better way! (read in a voice of a 90s infomercial). I am hoping that as the month goes on, I will be able to streamline the process and make it way faster.
Where can we follow the progress?
I posted my first instagram picture today…(cue the fireworks, confetti and trumpets…see, case in point from theparagraph above 😉. I will attempt to post my art every day there. Feel free to follow along!
In addition, I will attempt to do a summary post over here after each week of the month and go a little more into details with regards to each piece. Sounds doable, doesn’t it? (nervous laugh)
Ready or not, HERE WE GO!!!!!
